Get to know them- Molly Noser

This is the first of our new "get to know them" feature.  Current CU golfers responded back to some questions about themselves and the team.  Hopefully you'll "get to know them" a little better.  Our first player we will be featuring is Senior Captian Molly Noser

1. Why did you choose to come to Concordia University?

I chose Concordia because I was really impressed with the golf program. I felt like it was a place that I could improve as an individual while being part of a great team. I also like the small Christian community in the middle of a big city.

2. What is your most memorable moment as a golfer here at CU?

My most memorable moments include competing at the National Championship in Findlay, Ohio my sophomore year. It was so much fun competing with the best teams in the nation.

3. Who is your mentor in the sport of golf?

Growing up my mentor was my Dad. He was the one who always took me to the course and encouraged and guided me to get better.

4. Name a valuable lesson that you have learned from being a student-athlete?

The most important lesson I have learned from being a student-athlete is time management. I have learned to balance my busy classes while still being able to focus on golf. This will be a valuable skill to have as I go on with graduate school.

5. What is your favorite golf course to play on and why?

I have two favorite courses. My favorite course to compete on is the Jewel in Lake City. It is a very pretty course that is fun for competition. My other favorite course is the Pines in Brainerd. This is because I always played it during my family vacation at the lake.

6. What skill has been the most valuable to you both on the golf course and as a student?

The skill that has been the most valuable to me on the golf course and as a student is determination. If I set my mind to something, I am willing to work as hard as I need to get it accomplished. This helps me practice my golf game and also study hard for my classes.

7. What skill have you improved on the most since the beginning of your athletic career here at Concordia University-St. Paul?

The skill that I have improved on the most since I first game to Concordia trusting and being confident in myself. My freshman year, I had a hard time being confident with my game. Ever since I have worked on believing in myself that I can carry out a certain shot.

8. What are your plans after you graduate?

I plan to attend dental school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

9. Aside from golfing, what are some of your other hobbies?

I love to do anything outside. I love water skiing, downhill skiing, hiking, canoeing, and fishing. I like to play tennis and racquetball. I also enjoy reading.

10. What do you like most about the sport of golf?

I love the fact that it is played outside. I love walking down the fairway on a nice day. I also like the fact that it requires a lot of thinking and problem solving. Also, I love the competition.

11. Who would be in your “dream” foursome?

George Bush, Zach Johnson, and Paula Creamer

12. Who is the funniest Person on the Team and why:

The funniest person on the team is Laura. She’s always upbeat and finding a way to get the team laughing.

13. Do you have any pre-match rituals?

My pre-match rituals include wearing a ribbon in my hair and listening to Taylor Swift.

14. What are some of your favorite artists on your IPOD?

Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Kenney Chesney, Keith Urban, The Band Perry
